A Rat Race is a term used for an endless, self-defeating or pointless pursuit.

This is the perspective many people have on going to work. They see work as a seemingly endless pursuit with little reward. Little do these people realise that the problem actually lies within themselves, not the job or the work they perform every day.

The key problem within these people is that they lack purpose. They have little or no purpose in their job, or life in general. It is vital for a person to have a desire to achieve a certain purpose within their lives so that they achieve their goals, and escape the never ending loop of a rat race.

A strong desire to achieve one's purpose is the answer to escaping the rat race. Taking risks and welcoming change with open arms are crucial steps to achieving greatness and are your ticket out of the endless race. Sitting back and waiting for a free ticket out of the rat race is another way of saying "I am in the rat race, and will stay in it till the day I die."

No matter what you do in the rat race, success is not certain but if you do nothing failure is. - Paul Ulasien, Author of:
